I have a MF Compact tractor (1233)that makes a lot of noise when the clutch is mashed and the PTO is engaged. Is this normal. This tractor only has 156 hrs. on it and has done this since bought new.

make sure RPM is droped down and maybe double clutch before ingadging. ....

Yes, what you are hearing is the overrunning clutch on the PTO. This is perfectly normal and it is not hurting anything. It is located just under you feet in the transmission housing. It is keeping the pto driven implement from pushing the tractor when you push down on the clutch. ....

I have had a MF 1250 and also a MF 1440, the only noise that I have ever had is a type of deep roar, not very load at all. What kind of sound is it? ....

The 1233 only came in one configuration. It has since been replaced by the 1428V. In the 1428v the overrunning clutch has been removed and a duel clutch has been installed instead. The 1433/and 1250 us a hydraulically activated pto clutch to run the pto and have a completely differenty chassis. ....
